Virtual Club Show & Shine 2010
Before the real Fast Show we are again running a Virtual Club Show & Shine competition, where any club can enter and the public decide the winner. Details on the 2010 Virtual Club Competition page.
WHAT'S ON:
Run What Ya Brung
The drag strip will be open for you to take your own car down the track for just £20 for 4 runs on the track with performance print outs! This is the cheapest track time in the UK.
The track will be open for RWYB on the Fast Show Main Day (Sunday) from 9am-5pm and also on the Fast Show Test Day (Saturday) with late-night RWYB running from 10am-8pm (track conditions dependant). The RWYB classes will be running across both days, so you can set a class-winning time on Saturday as well. If you want to get maximum track time then you may want to arrive on Saturday as the track gets very busy on Sunday.
Don't forget, your driving licence is necessary if you want to have a go. Full details and classes on the RWYB page.
If you can't wait until The Fast Show, visit www.RWYB.com for a full calendar of RWYB dates at Santa Pod Raceway.
HKS Drag Series
HKS Drag Series - The Fast Show will see Europe's quickest tuned cars side by side on the track as they compete across 4 classes in Round 1 of the 2010 HKS Drag Series for Japanese cars!
Round 1 of the Euro Sports Compact Drag Series featuring the best tuned cars from European manufactures going head to head in a battle to find our continent’s king.
It wouldn’t be The Fast Show without something really bloomin’ fast, and they don’t get much faster than the 270mph Jet Car. Witness the power and feel the noise!
Autoglym Show Car Paddock
If you’ve got a car that is really just a bit too good to park in a muddy field, then why not bring it round to the heart of the show and park in the Autoglym Show Car Paddock?
It’s 100% FREE to enter, and there are trophies available for the Best of Show car, the Top 5 vehicles, plus a special Judges Choice trophy and prizes from Autoglym too. Everyone who enters will get a free Autoglym sample.
To enter, all you need to do is park up in the Show Car Paddock between 9am and 11am and register for free. The show paddock will be located behind the grandstand area, see event programme map on arrival. The paddock is open to everyone and there is no need to pre-enter – Just turn up, park up and register!
Winners Presentations will take place on the Nuts stage at 1pm.
Max Power Paddock
Alongside the open Autoglym Show Car Paddock, Max Power will be showcasing the ultimate in modified rides, with 20 of the UK's best invited along to the show.
From cover cars to feature stars, only the elite will be present. With plenty of new motors on the way, Max will kick start the year by revealing, and then giving away to the winner, their Project Ultimate Nissan 350Z. Current Max Star Babe Hayley will unveil the beast, with its fresh paint, rims and kit. This will be the first chance for you to see the completed car after the long wait and all the hype, so don’t miss out.
Check out some of the cars coming on the Max Power page.
In addition to the collection of the hottest cars the scene has to offer, why not grab yourself a Max goodie bag and get yourself the latest issue while you’re at it?
Glow 'n' Shine
Got a car that really stands out in the dark? Does your engine bay glow like a bunch of ravers lost on Dartmoor? Are you planning on coming to the Fast Show for the weekend? If so, send us some pictures (preferably in the dark!) to 2010@thefastshow.com and we’ll be treating the top glow-cars to some complimentary tickets for the all-new Glow & Shine competition.
Handling Circuit
The Fast Show hosted the first handling circuit at Santa Pod and now it’s become an important part of the show, loved by everyone who has a nippy little car that’s short of the big power needed on the dragstrip. The handling circuit has been refined year on year, and now we’ve got a top little circuit that gives your steering wheel a real work out!
The handling circuit is for road legal cars only and you will need to show your driving licence, but it’s FREE to enter, and there’s a trophy for the top driver, so make sure you have a go! Full details on the Handling page.
Drifting
If you like your cars rear-wheel drive and sideways, make sure you get over to the drift track and catch one of the Drift Shows, there will also be some full-throttle practice sessions and passenger rides available.
If you are interested in trying drifting for yourself then Santa Pod holds regular Drift What Ya Brung days, full details are at www.DWYB.co.uk.

Monster Truck
With each tyre weighing more than a family car, there’s nothing lightweight about Podzilla, Santa Pod’s very own car-crushing behemoth. Be careful where you park when Podzilla is around- cars become ramps that kick the massive bulk high into the air, and you have to see this thing do a burnout to believe it! Podzilla is piloted by Drew Thornton, who has the superhuman job of controlling the 1,300bhp, 5-ton, 4-wheel-steer brute.
Stunt Display
The legendary stunt driver Terry Grant will be pushing his fleet of cars to their limits in the Live Action Arena.

Dancing Girls
As always we like to offer you a variety of things to see and do at The Fast Show so to complement the cars there will be:
Pole Dance Shows - There will be free Pole Dance shows in the Pod Palais on Saturday night from the Ignition girls and then on Sunday Amber will take to the stage at Midday, 2pm and 4pm.
Lap Dance Club - Saturday night entertainment extends beyond the confines of the Pod Palais, and spills over into the cosy atmosphere of the Mirage Lap Dancing Club.
Miss Fast Show
Always funny, undoubtedly flirty, and often a little bit dirty, Miss Fast Show is a light-hearted competition to find the girl of the show. You know, the girl who everyone is talking about! All entrants will have their Fast Show ticket refunded, plus there's a trophy and prize for the winner, so why not join in the fun?
Fast Show Mile – In Support of Sport Relief
Rise to the challenge of Sport Relief at The Fast Show! Coinciding perfectly with the last day of Sport Relief, the Fast Show is holding its own 1-mile run on the Santa Pod dragstrip! That means starting down on the startline and then running all the way down the track, under the finish gantry, a quarter-mile up the shut-down area and then back to the startline again! Sounds like hard work, but it’s really not… you could walk it in 15 minutes.
The run is planned to take place at lunchtime (1pm) with racers assembling beneath the startline tower with a minimum donation of a pound. It’s only a mile, so wear what you want and enjoy taking part in a truly unique mass-participation event!
Minimum donation £1. All the money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries.
Time and location will be subject to change if weather conditions are not favourable.
2 Seater Dragster
What does it feel like to accelerate from 0 to 170+ mph in less than 8 seconds? Most people will never know, but there are an elite few who are intimately familiar with that stomach-churning, vision-blurring, addictive sensation, and these people are dragster drivers and the occasional lucky passenger. This is your chance to be that passenger!
The Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be available on the day for £250. Ask at Sign On if you would like to book a ride. Details at www.santapod.com.
Auto Trader Cars 4 Sale Paddock
If you've got a car you want to sell, park it up in the Autotrader Cars For Sale Paddock, stick your phone number on the dashboard, and wait for the calls to come flooding in. It's FREE for both buyers and sellers!
Helicopter Pleasure Rides
If you have always wanted to fly in a helicopter then you will have the chance at The Fast Show, with passenger rides around the raceway site available. Weather conditions permitting.
Plus...
Plenty of other things to see and do including performance & styling traders, side shows, fun fair, entertainment stage and much more, you'd be mad to miss out!
Weekend Camping
There is a normal Run What Ya Brung Day on Saturday that incorporates the RWYB competition, so if you fancy two whole days of track action, and want to camp over for free with your mates, pack you beers and BBQ and get a weekend ticket. There will also be music in Fuelers Bar which will be open on Saturday night as well as Pod Palais.
