The first performance and modified car show of the season kicked off 2007 in style, as thousands of eagerly awaiting people flocked to the Pod from all over the country.
As usual for this time of year the weather wasn't looking promising, but sure enough luck was on our side and the sun came out over a busy and exciting show. The RWYB event held on the 24th presented many people with a diamond opportunity to make a weekend of it, and this was evident from the busy camp site.
On the Sunday there were masses of modified, tuned, and spectators cars alike pouring through the gates as soon as they opened. The variety of cars on display throughout the day satisfied everyone, with most genres of vehicle being represented at the event.
The track saw plenty of action with minimal delays, with all sorts of vehicles being put to the test by their owners down the quarter mile drag strip including 8 second Super Mod cars, Japanese Pro Class cars, the infamous Fireforce 3 Jet Car, and much more! The RWYB competition was closely contested in each class with the trophies going to:

Off track there was plenty of action throughout the day! The Autoglym Show & Shine paddock saw a great variety of very high pedigree cars entering, all gleaming, and emaculate. Not a minute would pass without a flash of a camera reflecting of off highly polished paintwork. There were eight different categories for the judges to pick, and the competition was very close. The winners of the Show & Shine competition, and recipients of a gleaming trophy and Autoglym products were all worthy winners:

Inti Van Ritchie - Peugeot 206
Inti's 206 was the most complete car in the competition, with every detail inside and out modified to perfection. The tangelow and graphite pearl theme is pulled off throughout the entirety of the car. Whether it be the sparkling exterior, amazing fibreglass install, like-new leather interior, or the gleaming engine bay, this 206 has been graced with Inti's style and influence. The spec list for this car is huge, but to name a few of the amazing modifications this car has had: Full Toxic II body kit with smoothing over the entire car, arch filling 19" Budnik Sweeper rims, airbag suspension for front, back, and side to side movement, a beastly 206 180 engine conversion, and an interior you would quite happily eat your dinner off of! Overall Inti's 206 was a well deserved winner of the Best of Show award. |

Clare Scott - Ford Escort RS Turbo Cabriolet
Clare's Escort Cab is unlike any other. With 20" Asanti Alligator rims squeezed into super wide arches and amazingly vibrant Cobalt Blue paintwork, this car was deservedly crown the Most Radical in the competition. Clare's car also featured 4 tailpipes exiting through the boot, two bucket seats upfront with a matching single bucket in the back, and one off, home made, colour coded rear lights and front light panel! |

The drift arena was a massive hit, with the pro drifters doing what they do best throughout the day, gliding sideways while the rear wheels spin madly as the tyres are thrashed to exstinction! Even some of the lucky spectators got to experience the unique and exciting driving style, as the pros took them for a spin.
